GUMI is a Vocaloid who is voice-acted by Megumi Nakajima. She was released on the 26th of June 2009 by Internet Co., Ltd. She was released to be the female counterpart to Gackpo who was intended to bring more of a professional singing skill to Vocaloid. Compared to other voice banks by voice actors with little singing experience, Megumi was a professional singer. She is refered to as 'Megpoid' in the software and it isn't uncommon for the fan base to be confused and refer to her as this or use it as their 'evidence' that she isn't a Vocaloid. This is inaccurate as the term 'Megpoid' simply means 'Megumi-like Vocaloid', Megumi being from the VA's name. People make similar mistakes with Gackpo and his software name. GUMI was the 13th Vocaloid released, and was released for the VOCALOID2 software in 2009, then rereleased in 2011 for VOCALOID3, in 2015 for VOCALOID4, and in 2022 for VOCALOID6 (AI). She also has a SynthV voice bank that released in 2023.

Her age wasn't provided to the designer, but according to a tweet by Noboru she was intended to be around the age of a teenager before the drawing faze, this gives us the only outline of her possible age as nothing else has been comfirmed.
